Originally from New Zealand and 17 years in the airline industry there, I migrated to Australia in 1987. After two and a bit years in Western Australia during which time I joined Tourism Tasmania - as it transformed from The Tasmanian Government Tourist Bureau (TasBureau) - I transferred to Hobart (H.O.) into IT. In the period since I have moved through traditional back-room geek stuff, to desktop and end user support to Web, Social and Content Curation, and finally Research & Insights, before retiring in 2019.
Absolutely you are right. The days of mass tourism are over. Post COVID people are looking for more niche/local/real experiences rather than being on the conveyor-belt journey which so many 'packagers' package. It's kind of a mashup between the generati... show more
