In my career as a journalist, I have written for Reuters, GQ, the Mail & Guardian, Getaway Magazine and the City Press where I served as Arts and Lifestyle editor. I have interviewed and profiled nearly 100 movers and shakers and been longlisted for the City Press Non-fiction Award for my memoir, which I am currently writing, Boy On The Run. I have been shortlisted for the Gerald Kraak Anthology, an anthology titled As you like it: The Gerald Kraak Anthology, African Perspectives on Gender, Social Justice and Sexuality that went on to win the Lambda Literary Award for Best Anthology in 2019.
I completed a Masters degree in journalism and media studies at Rhodes University, where I served as editor-in-chief at OppiTV, a student-based broadcasting publication. I completed my honors at Wits where I served in the Student Representative Council, as well as the vice president of Golden Key, the top achiever's society.
