Hi everyone,
We are a startup based out of Bucharest, Romania (with staff all over Europe), with a simple mission - to make cities entertaining.
At the moment, we do this by creating City Exploration Games, this term might not ring a bell and that's because we came up with it ourselves (we can't just point to the red bus driving through the centre and say we are similar).
City Exploration Games help travellers and locals to explore the city by foot, combining the best parts of a scavenger hunt, a role playing game and a guided tour - delivered through our app as you walk the city streets.
Currently we have more than 300 games in 130 cities, though, as a Romanian start-up, we don't claim to be an expert in each of these cities, so we create the games with local storytellers - content creators, hosts, tour guides and tourism businesses. Partners receive revenue from the games they helped create, and our customers get the benefit of exploring their city through a fun and immersive game created by a local storyteller with a passion for that city.

Very impressive that you've reached over 130 cites — and in many cities that are host to Travel Massive meetups, too! How did you initially grow your game creator community? Are there any regions of the world that you're most interested in?
Hi Ian,
Initially we hand picked the creators, then as we opened up the platform and expanded to more locations a large amount of people applying to be creators are users who found us while travelling.
We definitely still have regions we want to grow, the US and core European countries are top of mind - Germany in particular. Because each of our city exploration games has a theme - the great fire of London, exploring Bellu Cemetary in Bucharest, discovering the beer history in Brussels, etc - we have so many more stories from each city which are worth telling that we can create an experience around that the opportunities are endless, really.
